If only pastors were mandated reporters of the sexual assault of an adult, as they are for children. When a woman tells the pastor her husband is forcing her in their home to endure him having sex with young prostitutes, the pastor should NEVER put the wife on trial, cross-question her about the prostitutes' identities, deny her, and send her back to her abuser. Dennis, the damage done by shushing a victim of sexual abuse is unacceptable. Victims should be referred *immediately* to law enforcement and/or domestic violence resources.
